501(c)(3) nonprofit · Buffalo, New York
Nyamekye Housing builds affordable, energy-efficient homes for ownership, so working families in Western New York can build equity where they live. Our first project brings 47 new condominium homes to Buffalo’s East Side.
Our mission
We develop, build and sell affordable homes for low- and moderate-income families, and we help first-time buyers get ready to own them.
Renting builds a landlord’s equity. Owning builds yours. On the East Side of Buffalo, too few families have had the chance to buy a quality home they can afford. Nyamekye Housing exists to change that, one building at a time.
New homes priced so that moderate-income households can buy, not just rent.
All-electric, high-performance buildings that keep monthly utility bills down for the life of the home.
Homebuyer education, credit counseling and introductions to mortgage lenders with first-time buyer programs.
Homes built above child care, dental and medical care run by our sister nonprofit, the Nyamekye Foundation.
Our first project is a new mixed-use building on Jefferson Avenue. The upper floors are condominium homes for ownership. The ground floor is the Nyamekye Wellness Village, with early learning, pediatric dentistry and a medical and wellness center.
